Fees

BULK BILLING & ATAPS – not available

Riverlands Therapy Services is unable to provide bulk billing or ATAPS services. Our fees are below APS recommended rates, and we have found that fee paying therapy is overall much more effective than bulk billing or highly subsidised regimes. A reduced fee for service is at the discretion of the therapist but is rarely available due to the demand for our services.

Fees for consultations at Riverlands vary depending on which therapist you see at what time. Fees for assessment consultations are greater, and all written correspondence conducted outside of session including reports will have an associated fee.
Please ask either our office managers or your clinician in session about these costs.

Options are available for phone or Skype consultations. Medicare rebates vary depending on the therapist you are seeing and your eligibility – please see below for details.

Fees can be paid via card or cash, with applicable Medicare rebates delivered onto an Eftpos card (further Medicare information below).

Medicare and private health funds

MEDICARE rebates are available to clients receiving psychological services with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP for up to 10 sessions per calendar year, with a GP review required after 6 sessions. Most clients book an appointment with a therapist through our booking number and visit their GP in the intervening period. Others pay the full costs associated with their first session, and subsequently see their GP to take advantage of the rebate scheme for future sessions. Rebates vary from $89.25 and $131.65. Enhanced Primary Care Plans are also available from your GP to use with your therapist with alternative rebates provides.

For your convenience, therapists at Riverlands Therapy Services are able to provide immediate Medicare rebate claims at the time of your appointment. Alternatively, you will be provided with a receipt to use with your smart phone MyGov app, or to take to Medicare.

Further information about the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme can be found on the APS website

PRIVATE HEALTH FUNDS If you are not eligible for Medicare rebates, you may be able to claim from your Private Health Fund with the right level of cover (e.g., BUPA, Medibank Private, NRMA, NIB, etc.).

Work Cover, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP’s) and Victims of Crime

A number of therapists at Riverlands Therapy Services work under these schemes.

NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the current way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers.

If you are not currently receiving disability supports you can apply to access the NDIS. Please call 1800 800 110, 8am to 5pm (AEST) Monday to Friday to apply or visit ndis.gov.au/nsw

At Riverlands, we are able to see NDIS participants who are self-managing their plan, or are using a plan-management organisation to handle their funding. We do not work through the NDIS portal, and encourage all NDIS participants to self-manage or plan-manage the therapy portion of their funding to retain the ability to choose their own practitioner.

If you have chosen to self-manage your plan you will be able to select the practitioner of your choice. You can therefore make an appointment to see any one of our practitioners at Riverlands Therapy Services who is experienced in your area of need.
